Translation is a written transmission of information from the source language into the target language. The text to be translated is to be supplied by the customer in an electronic or printed version. The text has to be legible: illegibility of the text slows the translation process and can result in an extra charge.

The amount of the text is measured in standard pages. According to the current practice of the EU institutions, 1 standard page equals 1500 characters. The customer can verify the number of characters in the MS Word menu: Tools – Word Count. If the result is a decimal number, it is rounded off upwards (e.g. 65,4 standard pages will be rounded up to 66 standard pages).

In some cases, especially in case of scientific or technical texts, our translator may ask the customer for a terminological consultation which is only a token of his or her professional approach in their effort to create the best translation possible.
